Streaming Device Overheating Fixes
Signs of overheating
Buffering that starts after 30+ minutes of streaming. App crashes during long viewing sessions. Device feels hot to touch. Fan noise (on devices with fans). Slower navigation.
Firestick overheating
Firesticks run hot, especially when plugged directly into the TV HDMI port. Use the HDMI extender cable included with your Firestick to move it away from the TV body. This allows airflow.
Android TV box overheating
Android TV boxes can overheat if placed in enclosed spaces. Keep the box in an open, ventilated area. Do not stack other devices on top of it.
Smart TV overheating
Smart TVs can overheat if mounted flush against a wall with no ventilation. Ensure at least 2 inches of clearance behind the TV for airflow.
General overheating prevention
Do not place your streaming device in direct sunlight. Do not cover it. Keep it away from other heat-generating devices. If overheating persists, consider a different device with better thermal design.
