When to factory reset

Factory reset only after trying all other fixes. It erases all apps, settings, and logins. Use it when: persistent buffering, app crashes, or device freezing that no other fix resolves.

Firestick factory reset

Settings > My Fire TV > Reset to Factory Defaults. Or hold Back and Right buttons on remote for 10 seconds. Device restarts and begins setup wizard.

Smart TV factory reset

Samsung: Settings > General > Reset. LG: Settings > General > Reset to Initial Settings. Android TV: Settings > System > About > Reset.

After factory reset

Reinstall only the apps you need. Do not restore all apps from backup. Re-enter streaming credentials. Test one app at a time to identify if a specific app causes issues.

When factory reset does not help

If the same issues return after a factory reset, the problem is likely hardware or network-related, not software. Check internet speed, try Ethernet, or consider replacing the device.
