Fix No Sound When Streaming

No sound is one of the most frustrating streaming issues. Here is how to fix it on any device.

Fix No Sound When Streaming

Check device volume and mute

Check volume is not at zero or muted. Check both your device and your TV or sound system volume.

Check audio output settings

On Firestick: Settings > Display and Sounds > Audio > Dolby Digital Output. Try PCM instead of Dolby Digital. On Smart TV: check audio output settings.

Try a different channel

Some channels may not have audio. Switch to another channel. If most channels have sound, the issue is with that specific channel.

Check HDMI audio

If using HDMI, make sure your TV or receiver supports the audio format. Switch from Dolby Digital Plus to PCM if audio is missing.

Soundbar or receiver issues

Some soundbars do not support Dolby Digital Plus. Switch to PCM on your streaming device. Check soundbar input and audio format settings.

Web player no sound

Check browser tab is not muted. Try a different browser. Check computer volume and audio output device. Disable browser extensions that may block audio.
